Dear members of Nationwide Council of Protesting Teachers,

I would like to send my full support and solidarity to all protesting teachers.

I applaud the teachers that have been at the forefront of the protest movement demanding fundamental economic, social and political changes in the country and criticizing the authorities’ brutal clampdown on dissent. 

I condemn any action against teachers demands in Kurdistan and ask the Kurdistan Regional  and Iraqi Authorities  to meet the demands of the teachers, which are listed below:

1. Resume the promotion of teachers and other employees of education sector.
2. Offer teachers employed on casual and contract basis permanent contracts.
3. Payment of salaries every month and on time.
4. Stop the meddling of the dominant parties in the affairs and works of government institutions including education system.

I will do all I can to support your campaign and the demands you have made.
